Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about becoming a Time to Teach® certified trainer — answered clearly and honestly.

No, you do not have to be a current teacher to be a trainer. However, your audience is teachers and you will be working within schools. Most trainers have spent time as an educator in a K-12 school, university, technical college, preschool, youth camp, or church group and understand the needs of schools.
Our highly successful curriculum and nationally acclaimed presentation are the reasons why schools invite us to train in their buildings. We make a difference and have an immediate impact on improving the school culture, teacher job satisfaction, and student performance. We are busy because we are effective — and that is why we are seeking excellent trainers.
Yes. We hope you do. Most of our trainers are active teachers and administrators. Your participants will relate to you because you are in the trenches too. It is not uncommon for many of our trainers to make more in one day training than in one month of teaching.
Everyone who works as a trainer is an independent contractor. You are not considered an employee, franchisee, partner, or joint venturer. You are responsible for reporting all of your taxable income to the IRS (a 1099 form will be provided). This is your own small business, and you have an unlimited earning potential.
No. Our organization structure is similar to other respected companies. We have a small group of corporate executives and a larger group of National Directors who are excellent teachers and trainers. These National Directors mentor and help our Associate Trainers. There are no levels below you. It is impossible to find and place other trainers under you who in turn find trainers. Training money does not trickle upward as it does in MLM organizations.
No. You can train anywhere in the country. Many trainers build a thriving local practice close to home, while others travel throughout the country. The choice is entirely yours.
No. The market for professional development training is still underdeveloped. We make a significant impact on improving school climate, teaching, and learning, and because of this we are seeking highly talented teachers to help meet the ever-growing training demand.
We spend two full days at the training answering this question. We teach you a number of successful strategies that will directly lead to principals inviting you to train in their schools. We give you the tools and the strategies, and you use them to become a successful trainer.
Schools pay for the training provided, and we in turn pay our trainers every Friday. You will be paid directly from the organization.
Every one of our trainers is assigned to a National Director with a great deal of experience. Your director will work with you every step of the way — writing contracts, negotiating, and closing the deal. All you have to do is show up and present well.
Yes. If your director invites you to a training after an interview, and you complete the training, then you are a certified trainer. You will always remain a certified trainer as long as you maintain your professionalism, personality, and passion at the high levels that schools and children deserve.
Yes, we offer both in-person and virtual training options for both trainers and schools. Trainers can choose from attending in-person sessions or joining virtual training sessions, whichever fits their schedule and preference.
Yes, we offer training internationally for both trainers and schools. Our mission is to extend our impact across the globe, providing high-quality training to educators and schools worldwide.
Professionalism — we want you to be the type of professional everyone admires. Passion — you must have a desire to help students and teachers succeed and thrive together. Personality — you have got to be able to deliver the message and connect with your audience.
